Adoption Kittens We are very pleased to say that there are no kittens available to be adopted at the pound.
We have finished our fundraising and we are pleased to announce that we raised over $600 to go to help the animals affected by the floods. The money will be given to the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce, who will direct it to where it is most needed. Thanks to everyone who helped especially Posh Paws Grooming, Sam's Warehouse, Hill's Science Diet, Westridge Fruit & Vegetables and Westridge Meats. New surgery cats
We have 2 new surgery cats Al and Bert. Both come from the pound, although their stories are slightly different.
Bert came with his brother as a cute tabby kitten but, despite a friendly nature, just didn't catch anyone's heart. He grew to 4 months old and had been at the surgery for so long it didn't take a lot to allow him the run of the place. From there, it was a short step to being adopted as the surgery cat. He is a playful fellow, not afraid of dogs but usually up to no good. He tries to lord it over the smaller adoption kittens and will usually start any mischief going.
Al was a fully grown adolescent cat that was one of the friendliest (although ugly) cat Christine had ever seen. He was purring and smooching, despite being in a cage at the pound. It would have been impossible to put such a charmer to sleep without trying to find him a home. However, it took one cuddle with Mick before he was declared the second surgery cat. Despite looking like a wicked creature, he is the calmest cat who just LOVES being cuddled. He is not even bothered by our 3 boys snuggling him, a severe test of animal patience. He even puts up with Bert pouncing on him at odd moments.
